Consumer Protection Division
The Johnson County District Attorney’s Office has developed the Consumer Fraud Unit to educate consumers and to address complaints by consumers against area merchants. Through strong, yet fair, enforcement of the Kansas Consumer Protections Act, this unit investigates, identifies, and aggressively prosecutes deceptive and unconscionable acts committed by area merchants against consumers.
Consumers who believe they may have been the victim of a deceptive or unconscionable act in connection with a consumer transaction should use the following helpful hints in determining whether to file a complaint with the Consumer Fraud Unit:
- Read the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
- Contact the Consumer Fraud Hotline at (913) 715-3003
- Visit the Kansas State Attorney General's Consumer Protection webpage
- Complete a consumer complaint form to return to the DA's office.
