Adult Division

The Adult Division in the District Attorney's Office is responsible for the prosecution of criminal violations of the state laws of Kansas. Violations of these laws can range from minor traffic infractions and misdemeanors to persons crimes such as homicide. The role of this office is to hold offenders accountable for their actions, protect the public safety, preserve the interests of justice and provide a voice for victims' rights. In order to do this, there are specialized units that focus on specific prosecution areas, including: drugs, domestic violence, sex crimes, child abuse, economic crime, mental commitments, violation of check laws and traffic. In addition, the office handles a broad range of other crimes including theft, burglary, robbery, assault and battery, and kidnapping.
