Selected Kansas Juvenile Statutes

Kansas Statutes are available in their entirety from the AccessKansas. The following is a listing of selected juvenile law cites. For further information as to the application of these statutes to a specific set of facts, please contact your attorney.

There are 84 chapters of "Kansas Statutes Annotated" (K.S.A.), divided into 7 volumes. Most statutes involving juveniles (or "minors") are found in Volume 3, Chapter 38. After the chapter number, the statute then has an article number and then statute number. For example, the Child in Need of Care (CINC) code is in article 22 of chapter 38. So a CINC statute might be cited as "K.S.A. 38-2202."
